Built and run entirely by members, we’re all about providing high-quality, affordable theatre to the local community. We’ve been delighting audiences for more than ninety years, mostly through the work of MHDS (i.e. Market Harborough Drama Society), our charitable organisation who owns the theatre.

The Theatre also welcomes visiting professional and amateur groups, which helps provide a truly diverse programme of events throughout the year. So whether your taste is for comedy or tragedy, classics or rarities, costume-drama or modern dress, our season should have something for you.

We have two performance spaces. The Main Stage is a traditional proscenium arch theatre, which seats 116. That’s where you’ll find most of our productions, particularly those chosen with popular tastes in mind.

Our other venue is the Studio, which seats about 50 people and is generally used for more challenging, even experimental, theatre. Seating in the Studio is unreserved.

Covid 19

The safety of our patrons and our theatre team remains a priority. We are following Government Guidelines by maintaining our enhanced ventilation and cleaning, with extra ventilation in the auditorium and lounge. Face coverings and hand sanitiser are available and we allow extra time to take your seat, to avoid crowding. We will review our procedures as Government Guidance evolves.
