Youssef is a Moroccan-British actor best known for portraying the Syrian refugee Sami in the comedy-drama series Home. More recently he has starred in ITVX’s comedy Significant Other. After studying drama at LAMDA, he spent five years as a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company. He has appeared in many different films and TV programmes. When he took on the role of Sami in 2020, he said: “I spent most of my on screen life playing terrorists. That’s my USP: that’s why I grew my beard. I’m a very big guy. I speak Arabic, so a big bearded Arabic man, traditionally, there’s only one kind of part. Sami is the first time somebody has taken the chance and given me something more.”
You will find out a lot more when Youssef visits us on the Open Day on the 10th September. He is giving two talks in the auditorium which are free, but for which you will need a ticket. The talks are at 12.30 and 2.30. You can get a ticket from the theatre office, or via https://harboroughtheatre.com/buy-tickets-on-line/.
