HA HA Harborough, Comedy Night

Date and time

Sat 4th July at 8:00pm

The Headliner is Eleanor Tiernan. Eleanor is an Irish comedian well-known among Irish audiences for her live stand-up performances and her work in TV, theatre and on radio. She has feature on Stand up for Live Comedy (BBC3), Comedy Central’s The Alternative Comedy Experience and she has supported acts including lliza Sheslinger, Stewart Lee, Tig Notaro, Ardal O’Hanlon, Jason Manford, Jason Byrne and Reginald D. Hunter. She has been a panellist on BBC Radio 4’s News Quiz and Where’s the F In News? and The Blame Game (BBC Northern Ireland). Most recently Eleanor appears in Holding, a new TV adaptation of Graham Norton’s debut novel.

Eleanor’s style is “deceptively sharp” (Fest Mag) and filled with her trademark acerbic wit.

The evening opens with an act by Mark Row. Mark has built a solid reputation as an up-and-coming act, and is widely talked about as ‘one to watch’ amongst those in the know. With a world-weary take on life, he has an eye for relatable and sometimes outrageous comedy that never fails to hit the spot.

Then, suitable for July 4th, is Leslie Gold, an American living in London. Leslie fell backwards into stand-up as part of a midlife crisis – but now sees comedy as her recreation drug of choice. She explores everyday topics from her no-nonsense New Jersey perspective, all delivered with an oddly compelling transatlantic accent.

“Leslie Gold breaks new feminist ground” – Kate Copstick, The Scotsman. “Leslie’s clearly got experienced and savvy comedy chops.” – Edinburgh Reviews.

As ever, the show is held together by resident MC Rob Coleman. We’re sorry about that, but he books the acts so we can’t really stop him.
