One Act Play Festival Success
A night of triumph for Harborough Theatre as Claire Bower and Alison Kennerdell won the East Midlands Final of the All England Theatre Festival competition on Sunday 9th April and qualified ‘Two Sisters’ for the National semi final to be held in late May.
Director, John Foreman, said “The whole team were simply magnificent and I’m one very proud director to have worked with these lovely people. Just 24 teams are left from the annual entry of over 400. Our youth entry, ‘The Cage Birds’ was (unfortunately) eliminated but not before the adjudicator gave them a fabulous, glowing adjudication and that they could be mighty proud of their efforts. They must have come very close to making it a one-two for Harborough and have made a significant contribution to our haul of trophies in the past few weeks.”
John also said that he’d like to give “a final thank you to Christine Richardson who helped create the role of Anya but who could not do the festivals due to a prior engagement but who unselfishly stood aside to let Alison take over. Three quite brilliant actresses who have made my job easy.”
