God of Carnage is a comedy of manners, without manners. When two 12 year old boys have a playground fight, the parents of the children meet hoping to discuss the situation civilly. However, the veneer of polite society quickly falls away, and the meeting deteriorates into an intense and darkly funny train wreck of finger pointing, name calling, tantrums and tears. This play was hailed by audiences and critics alike, winning both London’s Olivier Award for Best Comedy and Broadway’s Tony Award for Best Play.
The Cast consists of two married couples who are old enough and young enough to each have a 12 year old boy.
Veronica – a writer
Michael – a company wholesaler
Annette – a wealth manager
Alan – a lawyer
