Theatre Open Evening
Tuesday 3 November
7.30pm to 10 pm in the theatre lounge
The theatre ‘Open Evening’ is the time of the season when we open our doors to prospective new members and people who attend events at the theatre and would like to see what goes on behind the scenes.
We’re proud of our theatre, which is completely staffed and run by volunteers, and once a year we like to show it off to people who may never have been inside or who may be regular visitors to see plays, watch films, or, more recently take advantage of the live broadcasts which bring some of the world’s greatest venues right into the heart of town.
These volunteers are theatre lovers, whose efforts are not only enjoyable and personally satisfying, but who provide Market Harborough with some facilities, available nowhere else in the town. It’s also a good way to make new friends with similar interests.
They come in all shapes and sizes and bring with them dozens of different skills, and visitors to the Open Evening have the opportunity to see and hear what goes on in the building when the public are not around.
There is no obligation and you don’t need an appointment if you would like to come along. If, as a result of coming along you feel you might like to get involved in one of the various aspects of theatre life, on or off stage, you will be made very welcome.
But if you would just like a look round and a chat with some of the people involved that’s equally OK. And whatever you decide it will be our pleasure to offer you a complimentary drink from the bar.
The only thing we can’t guarantee is that the theatre ghost will make an appearance. She’s notoriously shy!
