The Rules of Time Travel – Parsnips Youth Theatre
The Rules of Time Travel by Claire Parsons, with poetry by Jack Clark – Harborough Theatre 1st – 3rd February 7.15 pm
Part One: If time travel were possible, would there be rules? What would those rules be? Would time travel be illegal and would the destiny of mankind be dictated by how quickly or slowly someone visits the toilet? These are the seemingly inane questions being debated in The Flatulent Tinker Inn on a rainy afternoon in 2018, when Bo meets some of her friends for a quick drink. Then two mysterious agents turn up and events take a sinister turn, as Bo finds herself five days in the future…..
Part Two: It is 1867. A small percentage of the population have developed the ability to time travel, but their ‘gift’ is frowned upon, feared and has been made illegal. Travellers are hunted down, persecuted and vilified. In order to shield them, Bernard Eberhard and Alma Merritt form an underground organisation called Traveller, to protect, guide and enlighten new time travellers….. How did the Rules of Time Travel come to be written and why?
