National Theatre – All About Eve (12A)
A new stage adaptation of the classic 1950 film opens in the West End’s Noel Coward Theatre starring Gillian Anderson and Lily James. 25th April, 7 pm.
All About Eve tells the story of Margo Channing who is a legend and true star of the theatre. The spotlight is hers and always has been. But now there’s Eve, her biggest fan, who is young and beautiful. Eve is the golden girl, the girl next door. But you know all about Eve…don’t you…?
Lifting the curtain on a world of jealousy and ambition, this new production, from one of the world’s most innovative theatre directors, Ivo van Hove asks why our fascination with celebrity, youth and identity never seems to get old.
It has been designed by Jan Versweyveld, with new music from PJ Harvey. It will be the first time Anderson has appeared on the London stage since her Evening Standard Theatre Award-winning performance in ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’ at the Young Vic in 2014. (2hr.10min.)
Tickets on sale from 4th April, at Quinns Bookshop, Three Crowns Yard, The High Street, Market Harborough; or via http://www.octagonfilms.org.uk
