Auditions – Garden Pests, by Jean McConnell, The Zoo Story by Edward Albee
until Mon 17th Dec 2018
Two one-act plays for a Studio production 14th-16th March.
Garden Pests by Jean McConnell
This short one act comedy, is about two keen gardeners, from different social backgrounds, who meet in a magnificent garden from which neither intends to go home empty handed.
A cast of two women any age between 35 and 55/60, one wealthy and haughty, one an ordinary northern lass.
The Zoo Story by Edward Albee
A stunning tour de force that made Albee’s reputation. This is a theatrically simple yet thematically complex long one-act play in which two men, strangers to each other meet in Central Park on a summer Sunday afternoon. The play explores themes of isolation, loneliness, miscommunication, social disparity, dehumanization in a materialistic world. The drama accelerates to an unexpected climax.
A cast of two men aged between 35 and 55.
If you would like to audition for either play, contact the Director, Mike Allen on 07855 882023 for more information. Auditions are open to anyone, but if you get involved with a play you will need to become a member of the Market Harborough Drama Society.
Auditions are in the Theatre Lounge/Studio on 10th Dec., or upstairs in The Harlequin Room 17th Dec.
